about
Another Day is a single release from my forthcoming album, Conviction (August 12th, 2022). A car pulled up beside me as I was stopped at a traffic light. The girl driving the car looked upset. What struck me most however was a small furry giraffe hanging from her rearview mirror. Part of the original opening line of the song came to me right there: “A giraffe hangs from her rearview mirror, tears on her face as she considers…” I decided I had to write a song that told her ‘story.’ The car had to be the central location for her emotional journey. Later on, the giraffe mutated into an angel (I thought it would make more sense without me there to tell the story!) and the hopeful lift of “Another Day” became the focus for the chorus. Everything passes.
lyrics
Another Day
An angel hangs from her rear-view mirror
Tears on her face, (as) she considers
the decision she's made, she hope’s it is the right one.
Hand in glove as she grips the wheel,
trying to decide how she really feels
now she's made the break, will it be the last one
Chorus
She's gone, drives into the sun
Sets on everyone, every day
Gone, heading towards the sun
Sets on everyone, but there's another day
Miles and miles of road and blues,
calls her friends lets them know the news
How she made the break,
had to happen some day
Stops off at a roadside place,
combs her hair, makes up her face
The waiter says, I hope you had a nice day
Chorus
Back out on the open road,
her eyes are tired, her coffee's cold
Listens to her favourite tunes and wonders
Makes her way to the old front door,
the open arms she's been waiting for
Sips a glass of red
and then begins to wonder
Chorus

Everything Adrian Crowley produces has an irresistible sonorous, quirky honesty. There's no category for his music. Just surrender and melt in. Season of the Sparks is a favourite. Enjoy. Tony Tyrrell
